🚀 Getting Started with Collaboration Earth

Set up your MetaMask wallet in minutes and start offsetting your carbon footprint with EarthSaver tokens

Install MetaMask

MetaMask is a free cryptocurrency wallet that allows you to interact with blockchain applications like Collaboration Earth.

Choose your platform:

  • Desktop Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge
  • Mobile: iOS or Android app

💡 Note: MetaMask is completely free to download and use. Always download from the official website: metamask.io

Installation steps:

  1. Click "Download" on the MetaMask website
  2. Select your browser or mobile platform
  3. Click "Install MetaMask" for your browser extension
  4. Add the extension to your browser
  5. Pin it to your browser toolbar for easy access

Create Your Wallet

Once MetaMask is installed, you'll need to create your first wallet.

  1. Click the MetaMask extension icon in your browser
  2. Click "Create a new wallet"
  3. Create a strong password (you'll use this to unlock MetaMask)
  4. Watch the short security video (recommended)
  5. Click "Secure my wallet"

⚠ī¸ CRITICAL: Save Your Secret Recovery Phrase

You'll be shown a 12-word secret recovery phrase. This is the ONLY way to recover your wallet if you forget your password or lose access.

  • ✍ī¸ Write it down on paper (never save digitally)
  • 🔒 Store it in a secure location
  • ❌ NEVER share it with anyone
  • ❌ MetaMask support will NEVER ask for it
  1. Write down your 12-word recovery phrase
  2. Confirm your recovery phrase by selecting words in order
  3. Click "Confirm"

✅ Wallet Created! Your MetaMask wallet is now ready to use.

Add Sepolia Test Network

Collaboration Earth currently operates on the Sepolia Test Network. You need to add this network to MetaMask.

ℹī¸ What is Sepolia? Sepolia is an Ethereum test network that allows you to try blockchain applications without using real money. Perfect for testing Collaboration Earth!

Add Sepolia Network:

  1. Open MetaMask
  2. Click the network dropdown at the top (shows "Ethereum Mainnet")
  3. Toggle "Show test networks" at the bottom
  4. Select "Sepolia" from the list
Network will configure automatically: Network Name: Sepolia Test Network
RPC URL: (automatic)
Chain ID: 11155111
Currency Symbol: SepoliaETH

✅ Network Added! You're now connected to Sepolia Test Network.

Get Test ETH (Sepolia Faucet)

To purchase EarthSaver tokens on Sepolia, you need test ETH. This is free cryptocurrency for testing purposes.

Get free Sepolia ETH:

  1. Copy your wallet address from MetaMask (click the account name to copy)
  2. Visit a Sepolia faucet website
  3. Paste your wallet address
  4. Complete any verification (if required)
  5. Request test ETH
  6. Wait 1-2 minutes for ETH to arrive

Recommended Sepolia Faucets:

💡 Tip: Most faucets give 0.5 Sepolia ETH per day. This is plenty to test purchasing EarthSavers and participating in campaigns!

⚠ī¸ Important: Sepolia ETH has NO real value. It's only for testing purposes.

Connect to Collaboration Earth

Now you're ready to connect your wallet and start using Collaboration Earth!

Connect your wallet:

  1. Visit the Collaboration Earth Exchange
  2. Click "Connect Wallet"
  3. MetaMask will pop up - click "Next"
  4. Click "Connect" to allow the connection
  5. Your wallet address will appear on the page

🎉 You're Connected! You can now register as a member and purchase EarthSaver tokens.

Register & Purchase EarthSavers

With your wallet connected, you can now register as a member and purchase EarthSaver tokens.

Registration:

  1. On the Exchange page, click "Register as Member"
  2. Choose your member type:
    • Consumer: Offset your carbon footprint by purchasing EarthSavers
    • Vendor: Sell eco-friendly products/services and exchange EarthSavers for CCU
  3. Click "Register"
  4. Confirm the transaction in MetaMask
  5. Wait for blockchain confirmation (~15 seconds)

Purchase EarthSavers:

  1. Enter the amount of ETH you want to spend
  2. See the EarthSavers you'll receive (exchange rate shown)
  3. Click "Purchase EarthSavers"
  4. Confirm the transaction in MetaMask
  5. Your EarthSavers will appear in your balance!
